For beginners, it’s important to enroll in a course that teaches you the fundamentals of dropshipping, how it works, and how you are supposed to execute this business. That’s what Ecom hacks academy teaches. You don’t have to do any research on this course, as we have done that for you.

In this ecom hacks academy review, we have mentioned everything you need to know about the course before enrolling. How it works, what all things it covers, the pros and cons, and nearly every detail of dropshipping. Let’s get started.

His store called the “Gadget Snob” is famous for making $5 million in revenues in 12 months. The success never stopped.

Considering his achievements, it wouldn’t be wrong to call him an Ecommerce guru. Some people even call him a dropshipping hacker. Jared Goetz is the developer of the ecom hacks academy course. The name clearly tells us what this course is about and what it contains.

It will give you insights into some unusual yet effective hacks and tricks for making your dropshipping business the next most successful eCommerce business on the internet. Jared has made a 3 hour and 16-minute long video explaining every detail of how he became a popular entrepreneur and how anyone who’s passionate about business can achieve the same results.

What is the Ecom Hacks Academy Course?


I bought the Ecom Hacks Academy course, and I was quite satisfied with the content. The only part I didn’t like was the fact that the course is simply for beginners. If you have zero knowledge of dropshipping, the Ecom hacks academy course will give you a good head start.

The course is all about how you can sell somebody else’s products to make money. If you are already familiar with the dropshipping concept and have been doing it for a while, this course might not make sense for you.

Since we are being 100% honest with the review, we will not hide the fact that the course supposedly helps people generate 6-figure income. That statement is BIG! Plus, it sounds too good to be true. However, the course does provide you with a lot of useful information that can help you build your dropshipping business from scratch.

Goetz has also claimed that after finishing this course, each student will be able to set up their own dropshipping business within two weeks. The course is designed for people interested in setting up their own businesses and making money online. You can earn by selling products from different niches—healthcare, fitness, beauty, apparel, accessories, home appliances, electronics, and so on.

How Much Does it Cost?

The 3-hour and 16-minute long video is definitely not cheap. It costs you a whopping $1,999, a one-time fee that gives you access to the core materials. However, that isn’t the only price you pay for ecom hacks academy. The developer has mentioned that learners should have an extra $1000 for advertising.

This will fund the cost of setting up a store on Shopify and promoting your brand to your target audience. The course includes top mentors and people who have developed their business using Goetz’s money-making tricks.

You do get a pre-built Shopify store for your use. Still, we found this course too expensive for basic dropshipping training. Add to this the additional thousand bucks for advertising, and you will know how it’s not for everyone. Here’s what I found in the course.

Module 1 — Structure

If you are a beginner at dropshipping, chances are you don’t know how Shopify works. The first module of the course teaches you the basics of Shopify with a step-by-step guide on setting up your own Shopify store from scratch.

In the first part, Goetz has focused on how you can buy a domain, how to set up order fulfillment, and how to integrate your Shopify with other apps to ensure seamless order placement. These are the things Jared has explained in the first part of the tutorial:

  • Motivational content where Jared gives you an overview of how he used the same tricks to grow his eCommerce store into a million-dollar business.
  • How you can find profitable products
  • How can you start a Shopify store?
  • How you can buy a domain from GoDaddy and use it for your Shopify store
  • Set up a contact system in your store so that your customers face no problem in placing orders.
  • How to integrate Stripe and other third-party payment gateways for seamless transactions.
  • Meta description and SEO tags
  • How you can set up your shipping, pricing, and delivery rules to generate maximum profits

Overall, it was the basic tutorial giving you the general details of Shopify, its uses, and how it can be converted into your full-time dropshipping business. I didn’t find this useful since I’m already familiar with the basics of dropshipping. But, for beginners, this section is the most crucial part of the whole video. You will not understand the next modules if you miss the structure.

Module 2—How to Set up Your Shopify Store to Convert

Once you have set up your store, the next step is to bring your audience to your site. This part is a bit tricky. Getting people to visit your store and make a purchase is easier said than done. In the second module, Goetz has explained to you the tips for optimizing your eCommerce store for generating massive traffic and converting them into your customers.

Basically, this part shows you how to design your landing page. It generates decent traffic and uses different marketing strategies to get people to purchase your products. Goetz focuses on the conversion rates, explains what it means, and what can you do to increase your conversion rates. The second module has the following elements:

  • How you can use free shipping to boost your traffic and conversion
  • How to reach out to the visitors who abandon their cart
  • Set up your FAQ page
  • Optimize your website’s loading speed

Later in the module, Jared has explained the themes you should choose for the website. The only problem, however, is that the themes promoted in this video might not work with Shopify stores. Besides, everyone has their individual preferences.

So, making a good portion of the video on an ideal Shopify theme seemed a little off-track. The second module is 1 hour and 16 minutes long. It isn’t as important as the first one, but now that you are paying for the course, it is best to watch each module at least once to understand what Jared wants to explain.

Module 3—Products

The most crucial element of a successful ecommerce store is the quality of your product. Remember that no level of marketing and advertising can increase your conversions until your product satisfies your customers’ needs. You should understand the pain points of your target audience and select products that address their issues, instead of uploading random products.

Once you have drawn traffic to your website, the next step is to get people to explore your collection and make a purchase. That’s your end goal. So, you need to do extensive research to find your target audience first. Once you know who you are targeting, understand their requirements.

You should select a product that helps address the problems of your audience. That’s how brands grow their business on a global level. Jared Goetz has taken many effective measures to help you choose a product that sells itself. Watch this module very carefully, as it will help you select the right product for your store. Here’s what you will learn from the third module:

  • Know the product’s stability, future growth scope, and profit margins
  • The best apps you should use for your eCommerce store
  • Where can you find products in your niche
  • How to receive orders from your customers through Shopify store and fulfill them

Jared has shared a tip telling you that the product you choose should be something that has worked wonders for your competitors. While this strategy brings the best results for some people, it may not work for everyone. Moreover, you can’t expect to make millions by selling products that are working for your competitors.

Your strategy needs to be more robust and better if it has to make an impact on your target audience. While we liked Jared’s idea of focusing on what’s already working for others, we were expecting something different and more innovative. I will give you the reason why I find this approach a little less innovative and profitable.

First of all, drop surfing doesn’t have a great scope in today’s age. Secondly, there’s little scope of marketing and advertising left after the producers have already done everything in their power to attract their target audience.

Module 4—Advertising

Module 4 is as important as the above three modules. This 3-hour and 12-minute video is all about the marketing and advertising tips for getting your product out there. We all know that marketing plays the most crucial role in deciding the success of a brand. You might have a top-notch product, but it’s of no use if you don’t have the best marketing plan in place.

Marketing doesn’t mean setting up a few social accounts and posting photos of your products and adding links to your Shopify store. It is a complex process, which covers every channel that your audience is likely to use to visit your store. Now, the sad news is that Jared has not shared the tips for utilizing these platforms for marketing. His only focus in the 3-hour video was on Facebook ads.

This video is promoted as Jared’s most important video since it covers the steps that helped Jared make $67k within a month. Basically, he has shared a few crucial tips on how Facebook marketing can be used to get people to your store and make them click on the “purchase” button.

You should use Facebook pixel to show your visitors ads based on how they interact with your store. This also includes finding the best-performing advertising streams, eliminating the ones that aren’t working, and investing in those that are performing well. Here’s the brief of what you will find in this module:

  • How you are supposed to build a business page on Facebook (which I found quite unnecessary considering that everybody knows how to use Facebook)
  • Setting your ad accounts
  • Different types of campaign structures and ads
  • An insight into Facebook ads 201
  • How to build your audience base
  • How to use PPE (pay-per-engagement) method to pay for building engagement instead of per click
  • How to win the bidding space on Facebook advertising
  • How to ensure your ads reach a larger audience—those using Facebook on both mobiles and desktops.

Later in the module, an instructor teaches you how you can use the excel file to plan your advertisements on Facebook. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that this module is 80% of the course. It is the most valuable and informative part that helps you generate a passive income from your ad campaigns.

These were the core tutorial videos that cover crucial aspects of marketing through the Shopify store. These are, however, not enough for those who want to expand their existing Shopify stores and beginners who want a comprehensive guide on how they can make their business successful.

There are approx 18 hours of bonus videos, which you should definitely watch if you are new to Shopify and online marketing. However, I didn’t find them useful.

Who Should Consider this Course?

Goetz’s Ecom Hacks Academy course is for newbies who have no clue what Shopify is, how it works, and how they can use this store to generate maximum profits from their sales. If you are serious about making money through dropshipping and converting it into your full-time and stable source of income, these videos are for you.

Note that the course is strictly for beginners who have no idea where to get started and how to make their eCommerce business successful in this competitive business world. If you already know what dropshipping is and how it can be used to make money, this course doesn’t have a lot to offer.

Is it Worth the Money?

Earlier, we mentioned the cost of the course. In addition to the upfront cost of $1,999 that gives you access to the course, you are supposed to have $1000 extra. Anyone who’s interested in learning the basics of drop shipping will want to know whether or not this price is worth it. You don’t spend $1,999 for any random program, after all.

We are confident that the Ecom Hacks Academy by Jared is not a scam. It is clear how he has put great effort into making this course as detailed as possible. Each module gives you a lot of useful information about the subject. But, is it worth $1,999?

Let’s face reality—the course is not worth the whopping $2k tag. You should find the same information from much cheaper and better sources. In fact, the steps for opening a Shopify store and getting a domain is something you will find readily available on YouTube, and that’s too for free.

Jared hasn’t shared any exclusive tips that can make this course worth the price tag. So, the answer to the question is NO! We don’t think the course is worth that much. You should rather find cheaper alternatives or learn the basics of Shopify from free YouTube tutorials.

If he had offered the same course for $300, I’d say it makes sense. But, for the price tag mentioned above, it’s better to put that amount into your business instead of learning what’s already available for a fraction of the cost.

If you are a beginner wanting to learn the basics of dropshipping from one instructor, Ecom Hacks Academy is a good choice. However, it doesn’t really offer the value you might be expecting. We’d rather advise you to consider its alternatives. They are much cheaper and offer a detailed guide for beginners, intermediaries, and experts in this industry.
